Ayona-Reily Dixon. 91原创 Photo by Eric EngmanI signed up for intermediate printmaking... and our first thing that we did was an introductory critique where we brought in two or three pieces that we'd already made to say, this is who I am, this is what I create, this is what I want to create with printmaking.  Throughout high school, I kind of faced a lot of negativity for being an abstract artist, and people not really understanding why I did that, or appreciating it. And I came to class, and I was like, I'm gonna do what I want to do, this is what I want to create, and this is how I want to do it... I just felt so seen and supported by that class.Ayona-Reily Dixon '26 B.F.A. Art

Facilities

The printmaking studio has two etching presses, one combination lithography & etching press and a relief/etching press and a variety of hand and power tools to create plates and blocks for the presses. The print shop uses a ferric chloride solution in a vertical etching tank and has access to a computer and a state of the art laser platemaker for photo-process techniques.

Learn from Working Artists

Printmaking students learn from faculty and adjunct instructors who are active artists and creative professionals. Through mentorship, critique and hands-on studio instruction, students explore traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques while developing technical skills, creative confidence and a personal artistic voice.

Exhibit Your Work

Printmaking students share their work through exhibitions, collaborative projects and public showcases. Students are encouraged to participate in the annual Student Invitational Exhibition and Juried Student Exhibition, gaining valuable experience presenting their work, receiving professional feedback and connecting with the broader artistic community.
