B.A. or minor in Art History

Art history explores the relationship between visual images and the personal, social and historical forces that shape cultures across time. Through the study of paintings, sculpture, architecture, photography and other forms of visual expression, students deepen their understanding of art, civilizations and the ideas that continue to influence our world today.

At 91Ô´´, students examine works of art from diverse cultures and time periods while developing skills in visual analysis, research and critical thinking. Whether preparing for a career in the arts or enriching a studio practice, art history encourages students to ask thoughtful questions, make meaningful connections and see the world through new perspectives.

I think that I've made a lot of really great friends and connections in the art department here at 91Ô´´, and so I think that'll be really helpful in the future.Francie Eufemio '26 B.A., Art

These student works were created for a final project that challenged students to reinterpret artworks from prehistory through the 14th century. Each piece reimagines a historic work in a new medium and perspective, demonstrating how art from centuries ago can still inspire creativity today.
