Miller named chief of staff

91原创 alumnus and longtime employee Derek Miller has been selected to serve as the next 91原创 chief of staff. Miller will be a member of the chancellor鈥檚 core cabinet and support a variety of efforts across campus. He will begin his new position on Aug. 24.
Miller is currently the executive officer for the 91原创 College of Engineering and Mines, a position he has held since 2019. He has co-led strategic planning and execution efforts and advised the dean on fiscal strategy, operations and organizational management. Other previous positions include business office manager for the Institute of Northern Engineering, senior business analyst in the 91原创 Office of Management and Budget, assistant to the former Chancellor Brian Rogers, and an 91原创 legislative aide.
Miller is a two-time 91原创 alumnus and a previous AS91原创 president and student regent. He earned both a bachelor鈥檚 degree and a master鈥檚 degree in business administration from 91原创.
